Mr Rotimi Amaechi, the Honourable Minister for Transport and I have never met. The closest I ever came to him was at the Award Ceremony organized by VANGUARD about three or four years ago. But, it is impossible for anybody to be the Governor of Rivers State without receiving more than ordinary attention among governors. So, in eight years, as governor, he drew my attention to himself – first as a PDP Governor and later as an APC leader in the state. To describe him as a tough political operator would amount to a great understatement.

On Tuesday 8 November, I went to vote at the voting center by the country club near my house, in the city of Orlando, Florida. Thereafter, I drove to my office to hold “office hours.” It was an ordinary day. Normal. The US elections are very calm affairs. But beneath the surface of calm, a most dramatic event was shaping. The grounds were shifting beneath us in what would soon become an earthquake.

Perhaps President Buhari and his team underestimated the enormity of problems awaiting them, meaning that they were not well prepared in advance for the challenges ahead. One would have expected the President to hit the ground running, as someone who contested thrice for the presidency and lost.
Who says American and Nigerian elections are not the same?
The blind and the deaf are probably aware that Nigerian elections cannot be exactly same as those of the USA and other developed nations. The main reason is that our politicians are determined to keep Nigeria an analogue country particularly in election matters. As a result, whereas people vote seamlessly elsewhere, our own elections are just a step away from those of the Stone Age.
Being stylish is it showing off?
Being stylish does not mean you have to break the bank to do so. Being stylish is wearing that thing that makes you look good. It should flatter your body shape and reflect your personality. Of course, you should also feel good in the clothes you wear not because you intend to show off but simply to acknowledge that you are on point with your grooming skills and you are consistent with how to coordinate you appearance with panache.
