Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have dismantled an international organised criminal group (IOCG) with networks spanning Nigeria, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates, arresting three kingpins and intercepting a cocaine consignment worth ₦5.3 billion.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a 50-year-old widow and fashion designer, Mrs. Ifeoma Henrietta Ezewuike, who attempted to traffic 1.3kg of cocaine disguised as a pregnancy.

The agency said the suspect was intercepted while conveying 19 parcels of the illicit substance from Lagos to Kano.

In a decisive step to stem the rising tide of illicit drug shipments between Nigeria and India, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and India’s Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) have agreed to intensify joint efforts targeting the illegal flow of opioids, particularly tramadol and codeine-based syrups.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency disclosed on Sunday that it’s operatives intercepted consignments of cocaine and tramadol 225mg concealed in 71 vehicle side mirrors being sent to Libreville, Gabon through the export shed of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Ikeja Lagos, with three suspects linked to the cargo already arrested in follow-up operations.
