It takes courage to admit mistakes. It is ones wish to commend the Federal Government for a soft pedal on modular refineries implementation which was not well thought out. The mercurial personality of the Acting President Professor Yemi Osinbajo who steeled himself to visit the troubled zones of the Niger Delta is the present calmness we experience for more crude produced and exported to beef up revenue.

The hardworking and amiable Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, is in the eye of the storm for marital and family issues, rather than political reasons. Mr. Ambode is alleged to have ordered the Governing Council of the Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, Ikeja, to sack the presiding Chaplain, Venerable Femi Taiwo for “disrespecting” his wife, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode, during the anointing service on Sunday, May 14, 2017. The Venerable failed to give Mrs. Ambode and her entourage preferential treatment. He made her to queue and wait for her turn like other mortals. The report said Mrs. Ambode patiently waited for her turn and stormed out after the anointing!

Those who think that the South must continue to play second fiddle in the scheme of things must be told the truth: There is every reason to give honour to those below the divide.

As a parent, I rejoice with the parents of the 82 Chibok girls who were freed recently. As a Nigerian, I commend and applaud the efforts of the Federal Government in securing their freedom. Some negative people who call themselves leaders said the government spent over two million Euros to secure their release and that the amount was too much.
