The Naira yesterday depreciated to N1,362 per dollar from N1,357 in the parallel market on Monday.

The 36 state governors under the aegis of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, NGF, have expressed deep sorrow over the Monday tragic crash of a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aircraft in the Igbokoda area of Ilaje Local Government Area, Ondo State, which resulted in the loss of gallant military personnel and other passengers on board.

The Air Force said search-and-rescue operations were activated immediately after the accident, with relevant authorities and emergency agencies involved in efforts to locate and account for everyone on board.

The naira traded within a relatively narrow range against the US dollar on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, with the local currency quoted at about ₦1,332.90 per dollar in the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM), while the parallel market rate stood around ₦1,357 per dollar.
