The Big Brother Nigeria finale brought the entire country together, with public institutions, from state governments to banks, offering rewards and encouragement to different candidates for various reasons, based on their state of origin or popularity. Communities mobilised to make sure their members voted for particular candidates, using various tools to campaign and convince others to lend their support.

THE man of the moment this past week in this gullible Republic was the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, as he mounted the rostrum in Kaduna signaling the battle for the minds of the electorate for the 2019 elections.

THE gaze of the old, it is said, is focused on the past, the young on the future. It is because of these perspectives that the old is sometimes unable to appreciate the future. Moreover, the older one gets, the easier it is for the memory to play games with one. I remember when I was young, there was a greater variety of fruits and foodstuff than now.

Adesina said President Muhammadu Buhari would win the presidential election in 2019. The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Babachir Lawal (some call him the “grass-cutter”) was the first to break this earth-shattering news that Buhari would run again in 2019.
