The recent dismissal by the Nigerian Police of its officers attached to the Rivers state governor Nyesom Wike is a huge food for thought. Police Spokesman, Dan Awunah, says the officers were dismissed after having been found guilty of breaching the police conduct during the last parliamentary election in Rivers State. Awunah also said the misconduct occurred despite warnings from Ibrahim Idris the Inspector General of police (IGP).
