THERE is a saying in my corner of Nigeria that accidental fire does not burn somebody twice. But I think that proverb does not capture the fact that not all human beings are wise and therefore there are scumbags who can suffer burn over and over again from the same source.

THE  last minimum wage bill in Nigeria was signed on September 3, 1981, by  Late President Shehu Usman Aliyu Shagari (1925- 2018). It was N125.00 per month, which is the equivalent of N45,000.00 now.

ENUGU—Apparently miffed by the alleged clandestine support for the PDP by one of its members, the Enugu State chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. Ben Nwoye has challenged one of the leaders of the party in the state, Sen. Ken Nnamani to clarify a statement he made while commissioning a four-room building with the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. 

OWERRI—The leadership of Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP, has described the siege laid at the Abuja home of Senator Dino Melaye as “tyranny taken too far”.

OZORO—CHAIRMAN of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Isoko North Local Government Area, Delta State, Prince Godwin Ogorugba, has said the track records of the party in human and infrastructural development in the state would enable it continue with its winning streak in the 2019 general election.

WARRI—Unpaid contractors of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, have appealed to the Federal Government to appoint a non-politician as Managing Director of the commission when the current one resigns this month to pursue his political ambition.

ASABA— IJAW Youth Council, IYC, yesterday, said the future  of the country could be marred if this year’s general election was not well managed, especially in the light of ongoing security challenges.

YENAGOA— BAYELSA State Deputy Governor, Rear Admiral Gboribiogha Jonah (retd), has said the military, as an institution, has contributed more than any other single organ towards the unity of the country.
