What apartheid did to the black majority in South Africa, and Nigeria’s role in bringing apartheid to an end is largely unknown to our young ones of today. WHY? The largest black nation on earth decided to remove HISTORY (including, Nigeria’s, Africa’s and the black race’s history from school curricula. Easter, a very important day in the Christian calendar, means different things to different people depending on age, religion and location. For the young, it is a time of revelry. First, it marks a break from the monotony and drudgery of school. It is also a time to connect with friends irrespective of their religious persuasions. For the average child, it is a time to have a new set of church clothes and participate in at least a couple of the many activities around Easter. For the deeply religious, Easter is a time to re-affirm their faith in loving God who died for the sins of the world and rose to intercede for His beloved.

Bail is now free. Isn’t it? One thing the APC does fairly well is appropriating moral high grounds. Intolerable hypocrisy happens in politics. Delusion is worse but excusable. A troublemaker can insist on being renamed ‘Papa peace’. We have humored many of them. The society is better if morons marched around with the self esteem of geniuses.

Since Ash Wednesday on February 10, 2016, many Christians have undergone one Lenten observance or the other. Lent is over and tomorrow is Easter. In the euphoria of Easter, we should not sweep under the carpet the lessons we learnt in the last 40 days. They are meant to strengthen and make us better human beings?
