PORT HAR-COURT—All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State has adopted indirect primaries to elect its candidates for  the 2019 general election.

It was pandemonium for the better part of Thursday as supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) clashed just as former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar made his way into the PDP headquarters to submit his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to run for the Office of the President in the 2019 general election.

Mr Kayode Adekunle, Youth Leader, All Progressives Congress (APC), Ijumu Local Government Area, Kogi, has appealed to the party’s national leadership to reduce nominations forms fees being charged aspirants.

The All Progressives Congress APC has said the Peoples Democratic Party PDP was merely hallucinating and engaging in wishful thinking when the latter said no fewer than six governors of the ruling and 27 federal lawmakers had perfected plans to defect to the opposition.

INSPITE of National Executive Committee, NEC’s adoption of direct primries for the selection of candidates for the 2019 general elections, many state chapters of All Progressives Congress, APC, are insisting on indirect primaries and have adopted the mode.

Against the decision of the National Working Committee, NWC, of All Progressives Congress, APC, that approved direct primaries ahead of 2019 general election, Plateau State chapter of the party, yesterday, resolved to adopt indirect primaries.

It does not mean that they cannot afford it. Some, who said they can’t afford meant that they can’t just pay N55m, for a nomination form, because it is not a justified spending.
It is not that they don’t have the money for it. It is just expensive. That amount could be used for something more meaningful.  People have priorities that they should spend the money on.
The money is huge in an economy like ours.
