Life is a forward moving event, it’s wheels turn constantly and it goes on in spite of our personal challenges, triumphs, tragedies and successes. The world doesn’t miss a beat and the rhythm of life is uninterrupted day in and day out.

Chapter 13, the penultimate chapter, has as its title “Yus Asaph and Jesus.” In it, Shams states that a certain prophet named Yus Asaph came to Kashmir around 1900 years ago, died and was buried in Srinagar at the age of 120 years. Based on the writings of Ghulam Ahmad, the author concludes that Yus Asaph is none other than Jesus of Nazareth (p. 109).

It is gratifying to know that the great United States of America was among the first nations that commended the Nigerian elections of 2011. Yes it makes sense that they did so. First, America like me is a supporter of President Jonathan. Second and more importantly, as my good friend Kolade forcibly argued, Americans do not really care about wobbled elections provided the process produces a winner as shown by the funny election which made George W. Bush, their President. The excellent one that brought Obama cannot happen all the time.

When I wrote “Talba: Beware the gathering storms”, forewarning my Niger State Governor Dr.Babangida Aliyu, of the imminence of danger ahead of 2011, I was neither metaphysically prophetic nor in my prognosis of the elements was I premonitively predictive of what precisely held for the boisterous Governor of the hydro state famed for his surefooted trudges and verbal jabs that are as self-reassuring to ‘power’ as they often are terribly self-harming to it.
