Embattled singer and rapper, Naira Marley who was recently released on bail from jail on Friday, June 14th 2019 have shared a bit of his sad experience, vowing to help some prisoners regain their freedom.

Following the release of the popular street rapper, Azeez  Fashola, a.k.a Naira Marley from the Economic and Financial Crimes’ custody, after fulfilling his bail conditions, the eloquent musician has described his brief incarceration as a sacrifice for perpetrators of cyber-crime, popularly known in Nigeria as Yahoo Yahoo.

When fast rising street music rapper, Akiode Blessing Mariam, a.k.a Candybleaks dropped the video of her official debut single, ‘Owo Osu’, featuring Naira Marley and Zlatan Ibile shortly after the court granted Naira bail after being in EFCC custody for more than a week over charges of credit card fraud, it sparked off rumours that it was a calculated  strategy to promote the song.

Popular street music rapper, Naira Marley, who has been in the news for the wrong reasons, seems to have learnt a few lessons from his encounter with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, after being quizzed on a 10-count charge bordering on credit card fraud.

Following the bail granted Naira Marley by an Ikeja High Court sitting in Lagos during the week, after temporarily staying in EFCC custody for charges bordering on credit card fraud, veteran rapper, Ruggedman, who before Marley was arrested had condemned him for encouraging cyber crime, has stated that if he knew the case would escalate to the level it did, he would not have lashed at him openly.

A Federal High Court in Lagos on Thursday granted bail in the sum of two million naira and two sureties to a musician, Azeez Fashola (a.k.a Naira Marley), facing cybercrime charges.

Controversies trailing the incarceration of Nigerian street music rapper, Azeez Fashola, a.k.a Naira Marley, following a Federal High Court’s order to remand him in prison pending the consideration of his bail application on May 30, 2019, are beginning to get messy as a fan has threatened to assassinate Ruggedman and former Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Dolapo Badmus, if the rapper is eventually sentenced to prison.

The Justice Nicholas Oweibo-led Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, on Monday, ordered that hip-hop musician, Azeez Fashola, a.k.a Naira Marley,be remanded in prison custody following alleged credit card fraud. 

Barring any last minute change, the trial of Nigerian musician, Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley, for alleged credit card fraud will begin at a Lagos high court today.
