Governor Seyi Makinde is expected to formally declare his presidential ambition on Thursday, 14 May, during a major political rally scheduled to hold at the historic Mapo Hall in Ibadan.

“The governor will publicly announce his preferred governorship candidate once consultations are concluded,” he said.

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has called on Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde to strictly enforce the ban on street trading following a deadly tanker accident in Ibadan that claimed at least six lives and injured several others.

He noted that the PDP is currently grappling with “two extremes”, which he described as a “war” and a “battle”.
