Catholic Archbishop of Lagos, Most Rev. Alfred Adewale Martins, will, on Saturday, ordain five Jesuit reverends to priesthood. They are Rev. Stephen Eyeowa, Rev. Hiifan Ikyondo, Rev. Benedict Mayaki, Rev. Paschal Ononuju and Rev. Valentine Ossai, all of the Society of Jesus, a Roman Catholic order of priests and brothers founded half a millennium ago by the soldier-turned-mystic Ignatius Loyola.

The entire world over is celebrating today as world population day. And the 2018 theme for this all important health related anniversary is “Family Planning is a Human Right.”

Last week it was established that Youth Liberation is the only way forward. It is the foundation of youth empowerment and development. Even the so-called Youth leadership, which most people are advocating for cannot be realized without youth liberation. Above all, it is the solution to most of the problems we are facing in our society today. The book Youth Liberation was inspired by God to address most youth-related issues.

God expects you to earn is called repentance. When you embrace that unique experience by repenting here on earth, heaven will recognize you and immediately issue you a passport. That is when God will cloth you with the garment of righteousness, which does not fade away. You sure need that supernatural transformation through repentance.

II Chronicles 7:13-15 says: “If I shut up Heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”.

The Almighty God established this covenant with our fore-parents in the Garden of Eden where He blessed them and gave them dominion over all other creatures but with a caveat not to eat the forbidden fruit. This warning was disobey-ed and thus the covenant was placed in abeyance until Christ made the highest sacrifice to restore the covenant to man-kind.

One thing is sure, any pastor that knows how he or she will be rated by God at the end will not toy with the issue of unity of the Body because that is primarily why Jesus gave us the gifts-—-to groom the saints to be like Jesus until we come to the UNITY of the faith

At the just concluded synod on the Pastoral Care of the youth organized by the Catholic Diocese of Minna, I introduced a 134 page book on Youth Liberation. I dedicated the book to the synod because I knew quite well that Youth Liberation is the foundation of youth empowerment and development. We cannot build the youths without a solid spiritual and psychological foundation.

Isaiah 5:13 “Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their ho-nourable men are famish-ed, and their multitude dried up with thirst.”

I was inspired to write a 134 page book, Youth Liberation which I presented at the Synod as part of my contribution to the synod. Why Youth Liberation? What has youth liberation to do with the pastoral care of the youths? By the way, does the youth really need liberation? Liberation from what? How and where can they get this liberation?

The Scripture says all the land you see shall be given to you, which means you have to see something before you go after them. God said I have shown you the land, that you must walk through it in the length of it and in the breadth of it which means since God has promised you that all these things belong to you, you should therefore know what belongs to you and lay claim to it and God will bring it to pass in Jesus name.

As you turn away from all forms of sinful desires, pleasures and acts that displease God, you are to turn to Jesus for cleansing and pardon. The instant you take that decision, the light of God will shine upon you while the darkness that emanates from Satan will be shattered.

There are so much to gain and a lot to lose if you pay not heed to this counseling. This is because in the Kingdom of God’ are provision for all good things. You cannot pursue and overcome your enemies if you are not under the banner of the Almighty God or belong to His Kingdom. Matthew 6:33 says: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.”

WHEN God created the world, He also designed and ordered time for each creation. So, every event in this world has a time of happening. The word and its natural components did not appear at same time but in sequences. H
