Motailatu Church Cherubim and Seraphim Worldwide (MCCSW) last weekend rounded up its 54th anniversary with the consecration of 12 bishops to man strategic departments for growth and productivity.

Prelate and Supreme Head of the fast-growing Cherubim and Seraphim church with international headquarters in Lagos, Baba Aladura Elder Israel Akinadewo said the bishopric ordination was de-signed to position the church for bigger harvest of souls and expansion of King-dom works.

The new bishops include Superintendent Joseph Akinadewo, Diocesan Bishop/ Co-ordinator Training and Seminary; Superintendent Zacchaeus Akinadewo, Diocesan Bishop/Supervising Prophet; Superintendent Jehoshaphat Akinadewo Diocesan Bishop/Choirmaster General and Apostle General Michael Ogundimu Bishop Transportation and Social works.

Others are Apostle General Gabriel Afolayan, Bishop Special Duties; Apostle General Jimmy Ajayi, Bishop, Ecumenism and Interfaith; Apostle General David Oyewole, Bishop Administration and Apostle General Felix Akinbobola, Bis-hop Church Planting and Expansion.

The others include: Apostle General David Oyewole, Bishop in charge of Evangelism & Youth Development; Lady Superintendent Elizabeth Akinadewo, President, Good Women/Registrar Sinai College of Theology, General Apostolic Mother Victoria Oyewole and General Apostolic Mother Mary Oluseye.

The prelate charged the new ordainees to consider their elevation as a call to greater sacrifice and service, urging them never to rest on their oars.

Akinadewo, who delivered a paper titled “Church leadership and administration: Beyond academic quali-fications,” said the MCCSW remains com-mitted to reforms in the white garment move-ment.

He lamented that many churches within the Mo-vement have embrac-ed strange doctrines and practices that have dragged the name of God into the mud.

Declaring MCCSW will not compromise stand-ards, Akinadewo said: “We must preach the Word and ensure every prophecy, vision, revelation and action is in line with the Bible.”

Harping on the need for healthy church growth, the forensic accountant said growth not based on biblical concepts would certainly breed negative conse-quences. “We are not bothered by num-bers but quality members det-ermined to follow Christ through the thick and thin.” Delivering the keynote address, he said the academic qualifications remain relevant but must never supercede spiritual considerations in church affairs.
