The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday alleged that some “overzealous elements” in the All Progressive Congress (APC) were planning to disrupt the party’s national convention holding on Saturday in Abuja.

Former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, made a practical return to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday, with a courtesy call on the national leadership of the party and called on former party members, who left the party with him, to return. Without referring to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Atiku affirmed that no government had performed up to half of what the PDP achieved in its time in government.

Mixed reactions have continued to trail former Vice-President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar return to PDP on Sunday after dumping the party since 2014.

THE Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,Akwa Ibom state, yesterday, described as baseless calls by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state for the cancellation of last Saturday’s local government election in which the PDP won all the elective positions.

 A House of Representatives member, Mr Daniel Ofongo, has said that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has enough space for returning members.
The lawmaker was reacting to Sunday’s defection of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to the PDP after his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He told Newsmen on Monday in Abuja that the move had opened the way for others who left the party to return.

The chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 19 northern states and the FCT have rejected the recommendation   of the Northern PDP Elders and Leaders Forum that the national chairmanship seat of the party be sub-zoned the South-West.

Contrary to reports that only the then ruling Peoples Democratic Party PDP spent billions of Naira to sway electoral support in the 2015 general elections, indications have emerged that the then opposition-All Progressives Congress APC was also engaged in the battle to out-spend the PDP and other parties.
