The National  Pension Commission, PenCom, has raised the alarm over renewed falsehood and campaign of calumny against it and its Director General, D-G, Mrs Aisha Dahir-Umar,

PenCom, has pleaded with Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association, NECA, to develop robust programmes to further improve compliance with the Pension Reform Act, PRA 2014 by its member companies.

AMONG the most denied, neglected and frustrated pensioners in the country are Local government and primary school retirees. 

There are indications that pension contributors under the Contributory Pension Scheme, CPS, are now opting for annuity policy in the hope that they will live longer after retirement.

In 2017, another Private Member’s Bill was presented to the 8th  National Assembly seeking to exempt the Nigeria Police and other Paramilitary Agencies from the CPS.

THE Kogi State government has approved 65 years as retirement age for teachers in the state.
