In a public advisory issued on Sunday, the NCDC reported that the total number of confirmed Lassa fever cases has risen to 535 out of 2,728 suspected infections, with 98 fatalities recorded across 14 states as of March 2, 2025.

According to him, as of July 15, Nigeria has recorded 3,623 suspected cholera cases and 103 deaths, with a case fatality rate of 2.8 per cent.

Idris said the integrated laboratory would be a game-changer in the fight against infectious diseases of public health importance to the country.
