The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun branch, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to avert “mother of all strikes” by members of the union by implementing the reviewed 2009 Agreement.

“The ASUU members equally have families and aged parents to cater for. As it is now, many of our members cannot pay their house rents.

Prof. Christopher Piwuna said the union has been “pushed to the wall” after over two years of patience without results.

The statement criticised successive governments for reneging on the provisions of the 2009 FGN-ASUU Agreement, which should have been renegotiated since 2012.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Taraba State University (TSU) branch, has issued a fresh warning of industrial action over what it described as the persistent breach of agreement by the Taraba State Government.

Akinbodunse said that any industrial action by ASUU now would destabilise the academic calendar universities had enjoyed for the past two years.
