A coalition of domestic and international election observers accredited to observe the July 14 governorship poll in Ekiti State, on Tuesday addressed newsmen at the Pathfinders Hotel in Ado Ekiti, state capital and discredited the poll with their reports, insisting that last Saturday election that produced All Progressive Congress (APC)’s Kayode Fayemi as Governor-elect, falls short of global best practices and electoral standards as a result of lapses in the way a section of the large deployment of security agents conducted themselves, among other electoral related challenges.

WITH the declaration that  Kayode Fayemi has won the gubernatorial election in Ekiti, APC spin-doctors went into overdrive.   Lai Mohammed, well-loved by all and sundry for his vacuous bombasts, came out shouting on the rooftops that the Ekiti election is a referendum on the Buhari administration.   However, the honourable minister needs a gentle reminder that Buhari was not on the ballot in Ekiti.
