The dust surrounding the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship ticket in Ogun State appears to have settled after the party’s candidate, Ladi Adebutu called his rival, Segun Showunmi on a live radio programme on Friday.

“For the records, the Ogun State branch of the Labour Party categorically disassociates itself from the purported endorsement of Prince Dapo Abiodun for second term and also unequivocally states that, even though overtures have been made to the Labour Party by the ruling party, the Labour Party is totally averse to any form of alliance with the APC.”

“For the avoidance of doubt, IPOB is not and can never be a party to Nigerian politics. IPOB members are not interested in Nigerian politics and can’t be used as political thugs. IPOB will never attack any region, person, or tribe for any reason unless threatened. IPOB has never had any record of violence in all our rallies across the world.”

“With supplementary elections to be held in some constituencies. And, with the forthcoming Gubernatorial/State Assembly elections, it’s my hope that our party will continue spreading its wings across the country. I congratulate the newly elected representatives, and I urge them to justify their people’s confidence in them.”
