On Wednesday, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, was officially declared the President-elect and presented his certificate of return by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

With the results of the national assembly election so far declared, there is no doubt that the ruling All Progressives Congress is still in firm control of the national assembly having won the majority of the seats across the two chambers, the Senate and the House of Representatives.

Yoruba traditional rulers in Nigeria have tasked the President-elect, Bola Tinubu to see his victory as a challenge to unite the country.
