The Peoples Democratic Party, candidate for the House of Representatives election in Ajetomi-Ifelodun Federal Constituency, Lagos State, Rita Orji, has insited she won in the re-scheduled February 23, 2019 Presidential and National Assembly poll with highest margin of votes and urged Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to declare her as winner.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) cautions the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, not to plunge the nation into a monumental crisis, by refusing to obey the Court of Appeal to release the election materials used for the conduct of the February 23, Presidential election.

Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2019 election has described the argument by the All Progressives Congress, APC at the election petition tribunal that he is not a Nigerian as a “verifiable and incontrovertible evidence that the elections were not credidible and did not reflect the will of the Nigerian people.”

Mr Emmanuel Jime, the defeated Benue Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the APC in the state have filed a joint petition challenging the victory of Gov Samuel Ortom at the general elections held between February and March in the state.

Ahead of the May 2019 National Convention of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, a national chairmanship aspirant, Edozie Njoku has said that the party lost the Imo State governorship election to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, because of lack of internal democracy.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has described Thursday’s Supreme Court judgement which threw out appeals by Tonye Cole, Magnus Abe and the All Progressives Congress, APC challenging their exclusion in the Rivers state governorship election, describing it as a vindication of the stand of the party.
