The Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Otunba Segun Adewale popularly known as (AEROLAND) has written a letter to the National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus, Board of Trustee and other principal officers to give detail report of the ongoing crisis and how the crisis can be put to an end.
Adewale noted that the tenure of Dr. Adegbola Dominic has expired since December 2018, that it is illegal for him to parade himself as the State Chairman of the party, that apart from his illegality, he is unfit and inexperienced to lead even a ward because his appointment in the first instance does not conform with the Section 46-48 of the PDPs constitution.
In a separate interview with journalists on Sunday evening, Adewale said that he remained the State Chairman because the letter issued to the effect of his appointment as the State Chairman will cease to hold in May 2021, copy of the letter was given to the media, he stressed further that while he stepped aside on the advise of party leaders when there was some misunderstanding then, which does not amount to his resignation as the State Chairman, that it is good to listen to elders but the whole thing is now being misconstrued.
Adewale said that his mission was borne out of genuine love for the party which is making him to lead the reform capable of returning the party to a winning party in Lagos State, he said that uniting the party is his first point of call, that he has also contacted those who have been frustrated out of the party to return which will help to rebuild, he stated.
According to him, as part of his plans, he will set up formidable structures in all the 20 LGAs, and the 37 LCDAs with funding and also to collapse all the factions created by anti-progress of the party into one united entity in the State, vowing to give women and youths opportunity and visibility in the party.
Adewale stressed that those who don’t want the party to work, created factions they called 65:35 which cannot lead the party to anywhere, it was a deliberate attempt because their motive is for the party not to be successful, that such arrangement has now been disbanded by him.
He also confirmed that he is seriously engaging stakeholders within and outside the party who can join him to rebuild the party ahead of the 2023 elections.
Adewale further said that he would be willing to relinquish power when a proper State Congress is organized which will have the input of all the registered party members and not the usual ways of writing executive committee list in the bed or hotel room of some people.
