The West African Examinations Council, WAEC, exams for Senior Secondary School 3 (WASSCE) will start on August 17, according to a comprehensive schedule for various national examinations for exit classes spanning August 17 to November 18, 2020, as released by the Federal Government.

President Muhammadu Buhari has terminated the appointment of Prof. Charles Uwakwe as the Registrar/Chief Executive of the National Examinations Council, (NECO).

THE need to have an examination body in Nigeria saddled with the responsibility of conducting the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination and the General Certificate in Education in June/July and November/December respectively, comparable to those of the West African Examination Council, WAEC, saw the establishment of the National Examination Council, NECO, by General Abdulsalami Abubakar-led military regime in April, 1999.

ABUJA–THE National Examinations Council, NECO, has vowed to  sanction schools charging above the government-approved fee of N9,850 as registration fee for the 2020 Senior School Certificate Examination,  SSCE.
