A survey in Taraba State revealed that nine of the 16 local government areas are at risk of flooding.

Parts of Makurdi town, Benue State capital have come under flood water with over 90 houses and business outlets submerged at the Nyongu community, Rice Mill area of the town.

The District Head of Auyo in Jigawa, Alhaji Umar Baffa,  wept openly on Saturday over the devastation caused by flood in Auyo town and other villages in the district.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) in Delta has said that it will collaborate with stakeholders to assist flood disaster victims in the state.

This year‘s rainy season has brought tears and sorrows for many communities in the northern part of the country as they were ravaged by flood which accompanied the rains.

Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, has donated relief materials to internally displaced persons affected by flood along the Delta State plains of the River Niger.

Bishop, Diocese of Mbamili, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Rt Rev.   Henry Okeke yesterday said that all the 45 Churches in his Diocese were affected by the flood ravaging Anambra West Local Government Area,  Anambra State.

The Federal Government has pledged to deploy more relief materials to ameliorate the plight of flood victims in Umueze Anam in Anambra West Local Government Area (LGA) of Anambra state.

No fewer than six people have lost their lives in Anambra West Local Government Area, Anambra State, following the raging and devastating flood that has taken over the whole of the communities in the area, including the Diocese of Mbamili Cathedral Church of St Michael Umuikwu Anam, belonging to the Church of Nigeria Anglican communion, and the only one in the area.

FloodS have  ravaged Delta, Anambra and Benue states, with a blind man and three others including an 11-year-old boy reportedly killed,  when the Powerlines area in Asaba, the Delta State capital, was submerged.

Anambra Government said on Wednesday that it would collaborate with the Nigerian Army Emergency Response Team to tackle flood challenges in riverine communities across the state.

Professor Yemi Osinbajo in this video clip said : “One of the things the President wants us to do is to find a lasting solution to these perennial flooding in Benue State and this is why we are engaging and having this meeting with the Governor. We are trying to devise a strategy to look at all of the issues”.

THE Federal Government, yesterday, indicated interest on flood resistant seeds from the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in order to reduce farmers’ losses during flooding and other climatic disasters.

AWKA—THE flood ravaging many parts of the country has submerged the Atani Campus of the Federal Polytechnic in Ogbaru Local Government Area of the state.
