Anambra commences review of court rules

ONITSHA—IN a bid to ensure a quicker and accurate dispensation of justice in Anambra State, the state Chief Judge, Justice Peter Umeadi and the state judiciary have embarked on the review of the state’s 2006 High Court Rules and 1991 Magistrate Court Rules. The CJ and the judiciary are also using the opportunity to review the rules establishing the state Multi-Door Court House.

IT was jubilation galore for the warring communities of Eziagulu-Otu, Enugu-Otu and Mkpunando Aguleri, all in Anambra East Local Government Area, Anambra State and their arch rivals, Odeke, Ihile and Echeno communities, Ibaji Local Government Area, Kogi State, as they unanimously cemented their cease- fire agreement and at the same time, made peace covenant.

THE sleepy town of Uke  in Idemili North Local Council of Anambra State appears set for a turbulent time overs its constitution and succession. Igwe Charles Agbala, who is currently in his second year of reign is being challenged by a section of the community on account of a judgement on a suit initiated by the family of his predecessor, Igwe Godfrey Nwabufo Ezeude.The verdict in the suit by the immediate past President General (PG) of the community, Mr Emeka Enendu-led executive challenged late Igwe Ezeude’s ofala of November 14, 2015.
