Kano Kingmakers have employed the service of 7 Senior Advocates of Nigeria and 17 other lawyers to challenge governor, Abdullahi Ganduje and Kano House Assembly and others in court over the creation of more new Kano Emirates.

Historian and former lecturer, Dr. Umar Ardo, has called on the Sultan and Muslims to resist last week  creation of four new caliphates by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano.

THE Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, yesterday, sent an open letter to Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State urging him to “publicly reject life pensions and brand-new vehicles for lawmakers bill  passed by the Kano State House of Assembly,  and to prevail on  the  members of the House to immediately  drop the bill, and to honour their fiduciary duties imposed by the Constitution of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) and Nigeria’s international anti-corruption obligations.”

Second Republic Lawmaker, Dr. Junaid Mohammed, has applauded Kano Government for responding to the yearning and aspirations of the natives and splitting sprawling Kano Emirate into more.
Mohammed, who spoke with Vanguard last night, said the governor of the state, Ganduje, has done no wrong by taking the bold initiative to respond to the age-long desire of the majority of the people of Kano.
