FORMER Federal Commissioner for Information and elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark, has faulted President Muhammadu Buhari over comments that he established North-East Development Commission, NEDC,  in appreciation of the zone’s massive electoral support to him in the 2015 and 2019 presidential elections.

IT was a gathering at a news-stand, with members united by their frustrations at the economic stagnation and injustice that the Nigerian state has meted out to the Niger Delta the despite human and economic contributions it has made since 1956 when oil was discovered in the area. Crude oil is the mainstay of the nation’s unity and identity; without it there would be no Nigeria. In order to sustain its rapacious greed and extravagance, the Nigerian state has, through brutal military occupation and civilian conquest, kept oil and gas-rich Niger Delta in perpetual subjugation. This has been going on for  years as government continues in its seeming quest to milk the area dry of its rich oil and gas reserves. This insensitivity is unexplainable even as cries of marginalisation persist. This is where Chief Edwin Clark became the main issue in his quest for a redress.

Elder political leader and former Federal Commissioner for Information, Chief Edwin Clark, called on the Federal Government to obey the law and pull out the Army from the Niger Delta states in Saturday’s Governorship and House of Assembly polls to forestall further hostilities and unnecessary killings in the region.

ELDER statesman, Chief Edwin Clark, has expressed worries that with the recent happenings in the preparations for the 2019 general elections, “it will be difficult to say if the elections will be free and fair.”

South- South leader, Chief Edwin Clark, yesterday, took a swipe at the Presidency, saying that when the time comes for the people of the South-East to produce the President of the country, nobody can stop them.

A member of Millennium Club for Transparent and Accountable Government, Chief Ighofose Okijirhie has faulted   Ijaw National Leader and elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark, on his statement that Chief Great Ogboru, All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate will lose to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, flag-bearer in the coming election.

A CHIEFTAIN of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State, Chief Frank Kokori, has asked an elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark, to stay out of politics if truly he has retired from politics as he claimed.

ASABA—SOUTH-SOUTH leader and former Federal Commissioner of Information, Chief Edwin Clark, yesterday, said the All Progressives Congress, APC,  governorship candidate in Delta State, Chief Great Ogboru, is wasting his time, adding that Ogboru would not defeat Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
