“God, directly and indirectly, made Governor Wike very much available, and so there is no way APC can conclude about the success of the election without mentioning Governor Wike,” the Ebonyi governor said.

The Ogun State Election Petitions Tribunal has granted the request of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to inspect all the sensitive materials including the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines used during the governorship election in the state.

“Because there was overvoting, that doesn’t mean it was characterised by violence. It was free and fair.

Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi state, has dismissed claims that Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State worked against the  Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi in the February 25th, 2023 elections.

“I had expressed an opinion on section 134 of the Constitution on the 23rd of January this year – that is about a month before the presidential election. On that occasion, I expressed a legal opinion and that is why I was very hesitant to join the bandwagon when lawyers started to give political interpretations of that section.”

According to the IGP, the exact figure of those arrested currently stands at 781.

“But being overwhelmed with the enormity and sensitivity of the task ahead and the possibility of pressure from different quarters to have their way, what will you do? It may be very challenging at a time like this. But what will you do? What can you do?”
