THE sleepy town of Uke  in Idemili North Local Council of Anambra State appears set for a turbulent time overs its constitution and succession. Igwe Charles Agbala, who is currently in his second year of reign is being challenged by a section of the community on account of a judgement on a suit initiated by the family of his predecessor, Igwe Godfrey Nwabufo Ezeude.The verdict in the suit by the immediate past President General (PG) of the community, Mr Emeka Enendu-led executive challenged late Igwe Ezeude’s ofala of November 14, 2015.

There is palpable tension at Agbani Nguru community in Nsukka local government area, Enugu State as an unknown state government agency allegedly invaded over 2,000 hectres of land of the community without prior notice to community elders.The community took to the streets of Nsukka chanting sorrowful songs  over the alleged  invasion  of their communal land. The invaders  destroyed cash crops, cassava and tubers of yam among others  while clearing the land for whatever purpose they had in mind.

ABA – Chairman of Osisioma Ngwa council area, Abia State, Hon. Benjamin Mgbeahuru, has lamented that the people of the area lack potable water as the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, dump has polluted their land.He stated that some pipeline host communities can no longer farm on their lands due to the devastating effects of  spillage and effluent   from the NNPC depot.  South East Voice observed that the NNPC depot dump located along Geometric road had encroached on  the road and poses danger to motorists.
