Brethren, in a few days before it will be mid month of February and Lent begins on February 14.  Remember to fast, it’s quite rewarding.

Today, we’ll focus on healing.    When we say we are sick, in most cases we are making reference to the physical.  We actually mean we have a headache; a fever, a cold, high blood pressure   or what have you.

For some of these infirmities, to the glory of God, medical science has found answers to many, but the more deadly ones, science to date has no answer.

That’s considering physical illness.

However, we have emotional illness, which is far more deadly than physical diseases that have cures.  It is important to know that even for that which man has found scientific means of curing, many have died while on medication.

Make no mistake about it every man must die.  The wages of sin in death.

Genesis 3 vs. 19, God speaking to Adam and Even in the garden of Eden “ In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken; for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt return”.

While we are alive, we need to be free from infirmities to enjoy the good of the land, as the Lord wants us to.

For the purpose of this article, let’s dwell more on emotional sickness.

A man who has been a graduate for over five years without a job is likely to be depressed .   He is likely to ask himself, “ What exactly am I doing in this world?  He answers himself, “ no job, no wife, no children, no money etc.”. He begins to see himself as  someone of no value.

For the woman who has been married without children for a decade or more, she is likely to ask herself once in while if she still has any business being married.  She could say to herself, “ isn’t it better I pack this up and no one will ask me about children if I am not married”.  She could also consider relocating abroad where no one cares about children.   Several thoughts could run through her especially when she is alone.

For some parents, they are wealthy but all their children are dropouts.   Hardly does anyone give them joy. As a result of this, they are emotionally disturbed.

Sometimes irrespective of our religious or spiritual leaning, we have some of these challenges. .  Even as Christians we sometimes think this way and such negative thoughts are not known to bring in any solution.

Rather, they compound our situation but anyone with Christ cannot be helpless and should not have such thoughts.

When such thoughts flow into your mind, let the words of Psalm 19 vs. 14 over ride such thoughts.  It states, “ Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in they sight, O LORD, my strength and my redeemer”.

All these situations are like wounds but they will be healed when God steps in.

Physical sickness can also lead to emotional stress.  For someone who has been diagnosed with a terminal disease, he or she is likely to be worried.  Thoughts about her numbered days could be quite disturbing.

It is worse where the person does not have the ability to meet all medical bills or where the medication taken has not recorded any significant improvement.

Brethren, the good news is that we have a God   whose ability to heal is unlimited. Our God can terminate all terminal diseases. Only believe in him.

Jesus can heal physical or emotional infirmities.

The healing power of God is available for those who believe his word.

Malachi 4 vs.2 “ But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall”.

Our confirmation that Jesus can heal all infirmities is found in Acts of Apostles 10 vs. 38 “ How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power; who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him”.

Did you get it?  He received power to deal with all infirmities and God was with him.

For God to be with you, you too have to be with God.

The man of God Kenneth Hagin of blessed memory who was diagnosed of a terminal disease, held on to the word of God in Mark 11 vs. 23&24  “ For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass he shall have whatsoever he saith”.

Verse 24 “ Therefore I say unto you, whatsoever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them and ye shall have them”.

As you take   your medication, you must with your mouth kick out that ailment with the word of God. What you say is what you get. Once you are able to do this and do so repeatedly, even the doctors will be amazed at your recovery.

Brethren, you cannot afford to allow any ailment cut your life short.   God wants you to live a fulfilled life, a life that will glorify his name.

I’m sure as a Christian; you have heard it several times that your body is the temple of God.  1st Corinthians 3 vs. 16 “ Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”

More importantly, you have an assurance in 3rd John 2 “  “ Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth”.

So, do not allow any issue to give you emotional stress.

For parents whose children   have derailed, the solution is not to rain curses on them or condition yourself to a state of worry. No. Rather, take the case to God in prayer and our God who can do all things will intervene in the mighty name of Jesus. I see you testify very soon.

As usual I will share with you a testimony.  A woman who was married for over 15 years without children, she had an ailment that caused one of her ovaries to be removed.   Medically, her possibility of having babies became slimmer. But she held on to God with a declaration every day that God has told her to come to the world to be fruitful and that she is a mother of children.

She and husband demonstrated their faith in God with regular worship, service to the Lord, paying of tithes etc.

To the surprise of her doctors, she not only had children, she had a set of triplets; two boys one girl. And before the triplets could be two years, she had a set of twins.

Brothers and sisters, whatever we are  trusting  God for, in the name of Jesus, we shall soon have an overflow of it.

Our sister and her husband then began to tell the Almighty God that they didn’t want more children.

Have you been told by doctors that the medical challenge you are going through will send you to the grave soon?

Rise on your feet and speak the word of God to that situation and you’ll be surprised what the Lord will do.

Always bear in mind that our God is the God of all flesh and there is nothing too hard for him. Jeremiah 32 vs. 27 “ Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?

It’s your duty to answer that question.   Your answer determines what you get.

May the Lord guide you this week and always.

Have a blessed week.
