Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, has increased the bounty for anyone who volunteers information that could lead to the arrest of the killers of the five soldiers at Obikabia junction, Aba, from the former sum of N25 million to N30 million.

Otti, who tendered the apologies during his statewide broadcast to mark the New Year, explained that the fund needed to wipe out the arrears was twice as high as he had earlier projected.

“Those policies are good but then they come with the negative sides. They come with challenges for an economy where over 60 percent of the population is living below the poverty line.”

There was spontaneous jubilation by staff of the Abia State University Teaching Hospital Aba, ABSUTH, as Governor Alex Otti has retrofitted the hospital ahead of  the visit by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, MDCN , for re-accreditation of the ABSU Medical College.

Gov. Alex Otti has presented a budget of N567, 240, 095, 972. 00 for the 2024 fiscal year before the Abia State House of Assembly.
