United States President, Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle have described the late Nigerian novelist, Prof. Chinua Achebe as a “Revolutionary author, educator, and cultural ambassador.”

THE United States took an unprecedented step, yesterday, when it posted a price tag of $23million, an equivalent of N3.3 billion on the head of top Al- Qaeda-linked terrorists in Nigeria and West Africa. Nigeria’s Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, attracts the highest reward of $7 million (N1.1 billion) for anybody that can provide information that can lead to his capture.

In an unprecedented move, the United States on Monday posted up to $23 million in rewards to help capture five leaders of militant groups which have spread terror in west Africa and Nigeria.

Renowned international journal, Forbes, has said Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, is now 25th richest man in the world.
Forbes also said Dangote is now the first African entrepreneur to lay claim to a $20 billion fortune as the stock value of his largest holding, Dangote Cement, leaped just three months after it released its annual ranking of the world’s richest people.

The moves launched by President Goodluck Jonathan to get northern leaders to support him ahead of the 2015 presidential election appear to have failed, Sunday Vanguard has learnt. One of the moves was the emissary sent to the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) at a meeting in Abuja.
