Following the declaration of Saturday’s governorship election in Osun state as inconclusive, the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has met and slated the rerun election for Thursday, September 27.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Sunday urged the Independent National Electoral Election, INEC, not to deny the party it divine win not as it equally urged INEC to declare its candidate Ademola Adeleke, winner of the election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Saturday’s Osun governorship election as inconclusive.

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has commended the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Osun State for taking the lead in the governorship election which was later declared inclusive by Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

The former chairman of the caretaker committee of the Peoples Democratic Party and presidential aspirant, Ahmed Makarfi has said that with the enthusiasm shown by the people of Osun state in Saturday’s governorship election, it was clear that “victory is eventually assured for the PDP in this and all subsequent elections”.

Following the ‘inconclusive’ declaration of the governorship election in Osun state by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Nigerians have taken to the various social media to pour out their minds and lay their opinions bare over INEC’s position.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Sunday announced that the Osun gubernatorial election which was earlier declared inconclusive would hold its  re-run on Thursday, 27 September.

Election observer group, the Centre for Transparency Advocacy (CTA) has said with the tremendous improvement shown by the Independent National Electoral Commission in Saturday’s governorship election, the Commission has proved it is now well prepared  for the 2019 general polls.

The Nigeria Civil Society (NCS) says incidents of vote buying during the Sept. 22 Osun governorship election was minimal.

Osun State election-With four local government areas of Osun state to have the results of last Saturday election collated and officially announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, supporters of the All Progressives Congress APC and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP clashed at the main entrance gate of the commission forcing the security officers deployed for the election to throw several cans of canister to disperse them.

Governor Rauf Aregbesola failed to deliver his home base of Ijeshaland to the All Progressives Congress candidate, Gboyega Oyetola, as the opposition Peoples Democratic Party swept almost all the local councils.
