The Ondo Guber election process which commence at about 8am Saturday is coming to an end in some parts of Ondo State.

ACN governorship candidate in Saturday’s election in Ondo State ,Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN), has expressed satisfaction with the large turnout of voters in his Unit 6 Oke-Ijebu, Owo, Polling Unit.

One alleged party agent, (name withheld) was caught at ward 7 Akure garage, Ondo, close to Mimiko’s polling booth distributing N10,000 to each security official.

The Ondo state governorship election kicked off on Saturday, with massive voter turnout and some logistic problems.

Prof. Layi Olurode, an INEC National Commissioner, has directed that more electoral staff be sent to polling booths with very large turnout of voters.

Ahead of Saturday’s governorship election, ministries, banks and some other institutions on Friday closed for the day at about 12 p.m in Akure, the Ondo capital, and some other parts of the state.

ATLEAST 15 persons were held Friday in Akure, Ondo State capital over illegal voting ahead of today’s governorship election.

Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) on Thursday warned politicians and political parties to guard their utterances, to avoid bloodshed in the Ondo State governorship poll on Saturday.

WITH only a day to the conduct of the gubernatorial election in Ondo State, the National Human Rights Commission, NHRC, yesterday raised the alarm over possible electoral violence in the state and called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and security agencies to take necessary actions to forestall any setback.

TOMORROW, October 20, the people of Ondo State popularly known as the Sunshine State will file out to either re-elect the incumbent Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, who is the fifth executive governor of the state for a second term in office thereby breaking the second term jinx or bid him goodbye from the Alagbaka Government House, Akure.
