Lagos – The wife of Lagos State Governor, Mrs Bimbola Fashola, on Saturday urged Nigerians to do regular exercise to keep their bodies fit and healthy.
Fashola gave the advice at the maiden edition of the Nestle Milo “Mum N Child” Marathon Awards and formal presentation of the company’s new product held at the National Theatre Complex, Iganmu, Lagos.
The governor’s wife commended the mothers who participated in the event and urged them to take up more engaging activities to further endear them to their children.
Fashola gave her endorsement of the newly packaged product at the occasion attended by the company’s Managing Director, Mr Martin Woolnough.
Peter Rufai, Coordinator, Nestle Milo Football Clinic, advised children to be more involved in sporting activities to enhance the development of the body and mind.
The former Super Eagles goalkeeper lauded the contribution of Nestle to the development of the minds of young Nigerians.
“There is nothing a nation needs than such an organisation which gives back to the society that has helped it to grow,” Rufai said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the new product comes in a more attractive pack, while the single-serve sachet was increased from 15 to 20 grammes.
Fashola later presented a cheque of N250, 000, on behalf of the company, to the winners of the marathon, Mrs Rasheedat Oyetola and her son, Mayomi.
The second position went to Mrs Oluwakemi Sogunro and her son, Femi, who got the sum of N150,000, while Mrs Elizabeth Danladi and her son, Dominic, got N100, 000 for coming third.
