A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Chairman of Umuchigbo Community in Enugu East Local Government Area, Chief Afam Ogbuene, has congratulated Dr. Martin Chukwunweike and other members of the newly elected state executive committee of the party.

The executives emerged during the party’s state congress held at Okpara Square on Tuesday.

In a statement made available to journalists on Wednesday, Ogbuene described the emergence of Chukwunweike as State Chairman as a positive development for the APC in Enugu State.

He said the outcome of the congress reflected growing unity within the party and a shared commitment to strengthen its structure in the state.

“The outcome of the congress shows that our party is becoming stronger and more united. What we witnessed was transparency, maturity and a shared commitment to move the party forward,” he said.

Ogbuene expressed confidence in the ability of the new chairman to reposition the party for greater success.

“Dr. Chukwunweike has demonstrated loyalty, discipline and dedication over the years. I believe he understands the expectations of party members and the responsibility that comes with this office. This is not the time for division; it is the time for consolidation and expansion,” he added.

He also commended Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, for fostering unity and sustaining development across the state.

According to him, ongoing projects and reforms in the state have continued to impact positively on residents.

Ogbuene further praised the economic reforms introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the policies were gradually translating into increased revenue for states and opportunities for development.

“The bold decisions taken by the President are not easy, but leadership requires courage. Increased revenue to states has created more room for infrastructure, social services and economic growth,” he said.

He also commended the Chairman of Enugu East Local Government Area, Pastor Beloved-Dan Anike, for what he described as notable development efforts across the council.

Ogbuene assured the council chairman of the continued support of the Umuchigbo Community and pledged to work closely with him to promote development at the grassroots.

He equally assured the newly elected APC leadership of his support, stressing that the success of the party in Enugu State requires collective effort from members and stakeholders across the state.
