A turn around is imminent

By Funmi Komolafe

It’s the last Sunday in the month of May but today is different because it is children’s’ day, a day set aside to appreciate children.  Why are children so important? It’s simply because if we don’t produce children, then it’s a matter of time for human beings to cease to exist. The birth of a child is the replacement of another human being who has passed on.

Moreover, procreation by human beings is a decree of the Lord Almighty.

Genesis 1 vs. 28 “ And God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it:  and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living that that moves upon the earth”.

It’s therefore not surprising that children are seen as a blessing from the Lord.

Let’s see the conversation of Jacob and his beloved wife, Rachael.   Genesis 30 vs. 1&2 “ And when Rachael saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachael envied her sister; and said unto Jacob, Give me children or else I die”.

And Jacob’s anger was kindled against Rachael: and he said, am I in God’s stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?

A confirmation that children are blessings of the Lord is found in Psalm 127 vs. 3 “ Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward”.

However as important as children are, they are not the only blessings from the Lord.

God does not want his children to be perpetual patients.  Neither does he want his children to struggle with money.  We are expected to be in good health and also prosper.

The book of 3rd John vs. 2 gives us an insight into the mind of the Lord. “ Beloved,  I wish above all things  that thou mayest   prosper and be in health even as thy soul prospereth”.

Therefore, our prosperity need not depend on the state of the economy of our nation.

As a matter of fact, life experience has shown that God promotes his own financially when others are grumbling about the state of the economy.

Are you heavily in debt and nothing in the horizon shows that you will get out of it very soon? Brethren, cheer up.  Remember the encounter of Elisha and the widow who was in debt and almost lost her son to her creditors.

The story is found in 2nd Kings 4 1-7. God turned the tide around and the woman who was in debt experienced an overflow.

Let’s consider verse 7 and see what happened after her vessels were filled with oil.

“Then she came and told the man of God.  And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest”.

By the grace of God, whatever you lack today, you will soon experience an overflow in the name of Jesus.

Brethren, we have a part to play before the tide can turn around.

The first step for a Christian is to cry unto God.   Exodus 22  vs. 22-24 “  Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child.  If  thou afflict them in any wise, and they cry at all unto me, I will surely hear their cry”.   This passage gives us an assurance that when we (not only widows and the fatherless) cry unto God, he will hear us and answer us.

Exodus 3 vs. 7&8 “ And the Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows.  And I come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and bring them up out of the that land unto a good and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites”.

Brethren what is that burden you carry, what is that issue that makes you unhappy, cry unto the Lord and he will wipe away your tears.

The second step is to obey all instructions given by God or his genuine servants.

Let no one tell you to take any step that is contrary to the word of God.

If the widow had disobeyed Elisha, she would not only sink into deeper debts, she would have lost her son to her creditors.

Take   your prayer   points seriously and pray with all your heart.

Bear in mind that all challenges have  expiry dates.

Cry to the Lord, and you will hear his voice.  When you do hear his voice like Samuel, obey completely and you will be free from that challenge.

Unemployment, loneliness, indebtedness, ill- health, or whatever, none is beyond what God can handle.  When the tide turns around, the unemployed of today can become an employer within a short time.

Once your have made God your helper, remain focused and he will help you.

Is your case that which other human being are plotting against you?  See the word of God in Psalm 56 vs. 9 “ When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me”.

For God to be for you, you have to be for God. Those who do sow never reap.  So, it’s up to you what kind of relationship you want to have with God. If you choose the Lord as your confidant, be rest assured that   success is  yours.

When your long awaited miracle arrives, it will seem like a dream but it is the hand of the Lord and to him alone must you give glory.

I am confident that sooner than you expect, the Lord will give you a pleasant surprise.  Just continue to trust him.

Testimony- This is the story of a Christian brother.  “ I was hospitalized in Qatar and on life support machine at intensive care unit for 5 days.  Members of my family, who were worried about my case, raised my picture in faith during one of the programmes in 2017. After this encounter, I started responding to treatment and instead of being carried back to Nigeria, I came back alive”.

Scientifically, what has a picture got to do with healing but that is the manifestation of the awesome power of God for those who trust him.

Here are two other testimonies –  The  first is from a lady. “ I thank God for giving me a baby girl despite fibroid blockage of fallopian tube”

A second woman, “ God delivered my husband from unexpected problem of police and he was released because he didn’t have hands in the fraud he was arrested for”.

These testimonies should renew our faith and give us assurance that there is no situation that God cannot turn around to our benefit.

In this month of grace, that situation in your life will receive the touch of God in the mighty name of Jesus.

Brethren, just have faith.  Believe that a turn around is possible when God is involved.   Begin to focus your inner mind on the new situation, stop wasting time thinking about the situation that you want changed.

Once you can see a brighter and better future, begin to thank God of it and very soon the tide will turn in your favour in Jesus name.

By the grace of God, you will end this year better than you started it.
