Chamber urges FG to dredge Port Harcourt Port
The Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) on Wednesday urged the Federal Government to dredge the Port Harcourt Port. The President of PHCCIMA, Mr Billy Gillis-Harry, made the call in Port Harcourt when he led officials of the chamber on a facility tour of the port. He said the measure would be in fulfilment of government’s promise to dredge the port before concessioning it.
Airport management tasks stakeholders on safety
The management of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja has advised passengers and other stakeholders to be safety conscious when they are around the ‘RAMP’ area of the facility, to avoid accidents. RAMP is the operational area of the airport where aircraft drop and pick passengers, refuel and carry out other checks in preparation for take-offflight. Mr Chris Bature, the airport Manager, gave the advice on Wednesday at a road show to flag off the maiden edition of its “RAMP Safety Weekâ€. We have operational vehicles of all the airlines; we have bouncers or people who bring in fuel to the RAMP, doing their work within the area.
