LAGOS – THE Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Ogbonna Onovo, on tour of police formations today, in Lagos, charged men and officers of the Lagos State Police Command to rededicate themselves to duty, saying there is dignity in labour.

He assured the officers that a total overhaul of the police force was in the offing, saying that soon police personnel would rejoice.

Onovo said his appointment as the 14th indigenous IGP would mark a turning point in the annals of the force as he would ensure the implementation of  his three-point agenda of capacity- building which is, training and retraining of men and officers of the force, robust welfare package for officers and intelligence-led police; which, of course, entails systematic alliance with the community under community policing to the letter.
