We’ve taken no position on 2011- UPF

By Festus Ahon
UGHELLI—NATIONAL Secretary of Urhobo Political Forum (UPF), Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu, has dismissed reports that the group has taken a position on 2011, describing  comments attributed to Chief Paulinus Akpeki on the issue as his personal opinion.

He said the views canvassed in the said report were not part of the issues discussed at the meeting of the group hosted by Mr. Love Ojakovo, a former commissioner in Delta State.

According to him, the UPF would not have commented on the statement, but has to react to correct the wrong impression the statement would have created in the minds of some Urhobo and followers of UPF.

Okorodudu pointed out that the UPF, as a group, would not do anything to undermine the political interest of Urhobo people in Delta State come 2011,adding that UPF was not known to engage in sycophancy and adoption.

Urging Urhobo people to be vigilant on the 2011 election, he said the race had started, asking them to rally round the UPF.

According to him, the UPF is the foremost Urhobo political group to ensure that Urhobo political aspiration is guaranteed in 2011.
