ENUGU- THE Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, in Enugu state has expressed support for Ohanaeze Ndigbo’s endorsement of the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Mr. Peter Gregory Obi.

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has rejected the N27,000 new National Minimum Wage adopted by the National Council of States on Tuesday.

Chief economist of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, Dr. Peter Ozo-Eson, at the Discourse raised some fundamental issues of strategy as well as global examples of successes that Nigeria can emulate in addressing its HDI challenges.

 The organised labour union in Bayelsa on Tuesday said a speedy passage of the N30, 000 new National Minimum Wage into law would determine the voting pattern of workers in the state.

The Federal Government says the National Minimum Wage Bill will be transmitted to the National Assembly on or before Jan. 23, 2019.

Organised labour, on Tuesday in Abuja, urged President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately transmit the new National Minimum Wage Bill to the National Assembly.

Makurdi – Benue State chairman of the Nigeria Labor Congress, NLC Comrade Godwin Anya was absent at Tuesday’s protest march in Makurdi organised by labour to press home demand for a new minimum wage, following an attack on his family by unknown gunmen.

The Gombe Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has advised against the politicisation of the proposed N30, 000 national minimum wage.
