The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has condemned the Senate’s continued barring of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan from legislative duties, describing the action as a dangerous assault on democracy and a descent into “legislative dictatorship and democratic anarchy.”

African Democratic Congress, ADC, and former Commissioner of Justice and Attorney-General of Kaduna State, Mark Jacobs, have said the senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, should be allowed to resume at the Senate, following the expiration of her suspension.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called for the immediate reinstatement of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, warning that continued obstruction of her return after a six-month suspension poses a threat to Nigeria’s democracy and undermines women’s participation in politics.

An independent lawyer, Teejani Jimoh, Esq., has urged the National Assembly to allow Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to resume her Senate duties after the expiry of a six-month suspension imposed on March 6, 2025.

THE main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has berated Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, over the National Assembly’s move to stop Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (PDP, Kogi Central) from returning to the Senate after the expiration of her six-month suspension.
