The Returning Officer (RO) for Essien Udim local government in the Akwa Ibom North-West senatorial district election, Dr William Olosunde, says he did not announce 61,329 votes for the APC as claimed by Senator Godswill Akpabio.

Contrary to the report on the reason for the recent purported raid by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) of a business premises reportedly owned by Senator Godswill Akpabio over alleged diversion of generators and hospital equipment, the report has been refuted in its totality by sources close to the Senator, adding that the report is totally unfounded, fabricated and baseless, as Senator Akpabio does not own any business premises in the said vicinity, or anywhere for that matter.

Senator Godswill Akpabio has  lamented the monumental manipulations that characterized the Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial district election in the February 23 presidential and National Assembly Election, saying the election that produced Chris Ekpenyong of the People’s Democratic Party as the winner of the election was highly skewed against him by the electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

AS President Muhammadu Buhari compiles the list of his ministerial nominees, the   Ibom Integrity and   Servant Leadership Culture Initiative, IISLCI, a group of elders in Akwa Ibom All Progressives Congress, APC, has advised him against nominating immediate past governor of the state and former Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio.
