Air Peace has cautioned unions in the aviation sector against the reported plan to picket airlines in the country, warning that it would not sit idly by and allow anyone disrupt its flight operations or prevent its guests from flying.

Air Peace has urged Nigerians to drop their differences and unite to make Nigeria realise its economic and political potential as a leading nation in Africa.

Air Peace’s expansion drive has received a big boost with the admission of the carrier as a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA). The airline achieved the feat only a few months after securing its IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certificate.

CHAIRMAN of Air Peace Airline, Chief Allen Onyema, has said his airline’s decision to go to Akure with a very low fare of  N10,000 was  part of Air Peace’s drive to contribute to the unity and development of the country. He said the airline believes there is a lot of human and mineral resources in Ondo State, “so we want to help investors go into the state and Ekiti State”.

Governor  Rotimi Akerodolu of Ondo State has commended Air Peace for extending its domestic flight operations to Akure, the state capital. Akerodolu made the commendation yesterday, at the Akure Airport after the airline’s inaugural flight to the state from Lagos.

A Nigerian carrier, Air Peace will on Aug. 11 begin scheduled commercial flight operations to the Akure Airport in Ondo.

Air Peace airline, yesterday, grounded two of its planes after they collided when one of them was being towed at the ramp of the General Aviation Terminal, GAT, of Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos to position for departure.
