On the 27th of July, all eyes were on London. How could they top the Bejing opening four years earlier? The pride of England was at stake and boy, did we know it. Billions watched around the world when the Red Arrows jet formation flew across the stadium spewing the red, white and blue of the Union Jack. The Brits usually are known for their stiff upper lip and are not known to blow their own trumpet.

My revered friend, Fagbemi, brought me good tidings. I mean, literally. It is a tiding I want to share.

I have, as well as others, advocated the parliamentary system. It can be less expensive to run. You can take your ministers from the rank of legislators. Of course, they will be answerable to parliaments and they can be sacked and replaced as the need arises.

Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria, has taken quite a lot of our time these few days. If you ask me, I will say it is good he did. It was a question of money and of course, integrity. It was a popular uproar. Sanusi could not refuse to answer the summons of the sovereign parliament. He even agreed he could be sacked.
