The heat is all over the country. There is smoke, no fire yet and I have to commend prominent compatriots who rose in unison against the threat of kicking out every Igbo from the far North.

Events are unfolding fast, truth is, Nigeria as we see it today may not stay in one piece unless certain issues are addressed before the end of the Muhammadu Buhari era. Echoes of freedom, separation and restructuring are booming.

Those who think that the South must continue to play second fiddle in the scheme of things must be told the truth: There is every reason to give honour to those below the divide.

It is sad that 47 years after General Yakubu Gowon proclaimed: ‘No Victor, No Vanquished’ and flashed his three Rs[Reconciliation, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction], areas that were known as Biafra still look like they are not part of oil rich Nigeria.
