Glasgow, Scotland — The Kwankwasiyya Diaspora has reiterated its steadfast loyalty to its national leader, Engr. Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, while urging the Federal Government to urgently address the rising insecurity across Nigeria.
The position was conveyed during a meeting held in Glasgow, where members discussed pressing national issues and developments affecting Kano State and Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora.
In a communiqué issued at the conclusion of the meeting, the diaspora body expressed strong endorsement of Kwankwaso’s recent warnings about the country’s deteriorating security situation, describing it as “alarming” and a threat to national peace and stability. The group called on the government to adopt decisive and comprehensive measures to tackle the menace.
The Kwankwasiyya Diaspora also commended Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, for receiving the Nigeria Excellence Award in Public Service (NEAPS), describing the recognition as a testament to his visionary leadership and commitment to public service reforms. The group highlighted Governor Yusuf’s achievements in affordable healthcare delivery and infrastructural development, noting their positive impact on residents’ welfare and the state’s socio-economic growth.
Further, the diaspora urged the people of Kano State to remain united and continue supporting what it described as “the trio of Kano” — Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, and the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II. The group stressed that the collective leadership of the trio is essential for maintaining peace, security, and sustainable development in the state.
The communiqué was signed by Dr. Moses Ashawa, Chairman of Kwankwasiyya Scotland, and dated December 9, 2025.
