Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa announced his resignation on Tuesday after he was embroiled in a corruption investigation into the awarding of energy-related contracts.

ABUJA – Some of Nigeria’s most eminent Christian clerics, including Archbishop Daniel Okoh, President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Most Revd Henry Ndukuba, Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, among others, have declared that despite Nigeria’s deplorable situation, it is not irredeemable.

A total of 1, 017, 613 Bayelsa State residents who have collected their Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs, will on Saturday go to the ballot to choose the next governor of the state.

Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has said that there will be no movement of vehicles on the roads in the three states – Imo, Kogi and Bayelsa – observing off-season governorship elections.
