Fresh crisis might be brewing in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following Thursday’s dissolution of the party’s Anambra Executive Committee by the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led National Caretaker Committee.

Fresh crisis has engulfed Adamawa State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as the National Caretaker Committee, NWC, of the party issued two different letters to factional chairman of the party over the conduct of non-elective ward, local and state chapters of the party.

In a bid to ensure the enforcement of the recently delivered judgment of the Supreme Court recognising the Senator Makarfi’s national caretaker Committee as legitimate leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, some men of Nigerian Police Force and other security agents have stormed the Lagos Secretariat of PDP to allegedly flush out factional members loyal to the defeated Senator Modu Sheriff.

ABUJA—The Forum of former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, speakers in the State Houses of Assembly has pledged unalloyed loyalty to the National Caretaker Committee, NCC, of the party, led by Senator Ahmed Makarfi.

First and foremost, I believe what happened was great for the PDP; it was great for Nigeria, for democracy and the rule of law. You could see that immediately after the Supreme Court passed its judgment, there was a lot of excitement, chest beating, and people were celebrating all over and surprisingly not even by PDP members alone but even non-PDP members.
